Description:
Artificial arm for an above-elbow amputee, made by the Carnes Artificial Limb Company of Kansas City, United States, c.1915.and imported into England during World War I . An innovative feature of the arm is the mechanism which enabled the palm of the metal hand, attached to a wooden forearm and socket, to turn upwards as the elbow was flexed.
