'Discorsi E Dimonstrazioni Mathematiche Intorno a Due Nuove Scienze' ('Discourses and Mathematical Demonstrations Concerning Two New Sciences', Leiden, 1638) is shortened in English to 'Two New Sciences'. This was Galileo's final work. Principally the book deals with the engineering science of materials and the mathematical science of kinematics, and is widely considered his greatest work. Italian astronomer and physicist Galileo is (1564-1642) one of the greatest scientists and his achievements include the discovery of Jupiter's moons and the laws governing falling bodies. His achievements include suggesting a general scientific approach to the investigation of celestial phenomena.
