The London, Midland & Scottish Railway's Liverpool Adelphi hotel, 1926. The hotel, designed by R Frank Atkinson, was completed by the Midland Railway in 1912. It was often used by passengers spending their last night in Britain before departing for the USA or Canada on transatlantic liners.
