This site investigates issues of Science and Culture and displays over 30.000 objects and images relating to the themes important to NMSI. NMSI is made up of the three Museums of the Science Museum, National Museum of Film, Photography and Television and National Railway Museums. Compass in gimbals, with brass bowl and compass cards. This compass is said to have been the property of Sir Issac Newton. The bowl is inscribed with: 'Benj. Ayres fecit Amsterm' and the card is marked with 'J M Kleman fecit Amsterm'.
