A steel bladed table knife with ivory handle and silver ferrule. Cutlery-making in the 18th century was a distinct trade controlled by the cutlers' guild. Cutlers made all sorts of sharp-edged tools in addition to knives, including spades, razors and blood-letting lancets for surgeons. Dimensions: length 255 mm width 30 mm height 22 mm.
