A colour transparency of a boldly decorated dining room, taken by Zoltan Glass (1903-1982), in about 1960.
The intense red of the decor and the style of the furniture is typical of the 1960s trend for shocking colours and bold prints. A wide range of products are displayed so the photograph could be used for advertising practically anything in the room. It is interesting to note the television beside the fireplace, a sign of the times, with the focal point of the room having switched from the hearth to the television in many houses.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Zoltan Glass worked on a variety of promotional advertising photography in both black and white and colour.
