Astrology and Alchemy
Why do astrology and alchemy continue to flourish when we allegedly live in a ‘scientific age’? In both Britain and the United States about a third of the population believes in astrology and its popularity is growing. How can we reject the concept of a flat Earth or an Earth-centred universe, but still believe the planets can control our lives? How can alchemy still fascinate us when we no longer try to convert lead into gold?
